Happy New Year everybody!!! I hope all of you brought it in safely and soundly (and are sleeping off all the alcohol from last night lol). Seriously though, it’s been a couple of years since we’ve posted this list and there seems to be just as much interest in it as there was in 2010 when Chris Brown’s “Dueces” (feat. Tyga and Kevin McCall) was at the top. As I do every year, I spent my entire New Year’s Eve glued to the TV in nostalgia and anticipation of what BET’s top videos and moments were. To my suspicion, the number 1 honor went to “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke (feat. T.I. and Pharrell) with A$AP Rocky’s “Fuckin’ Problems” (feat. Drake, 2 Chainz & Kendrick Lamar) as the runner up. In the end, I enjoyed and agreed with the list as a whole but it reminded me of Hip-Hop’s continued reign over other types of music in the urban community (namely R&B).
