This past weekend I wrote an article describing how to measure returns on the digital marketing of music. For 2 reasons:

  1. Too many artists and musicians promote their music online but have no idea what their goals are or how to track the success of their efforts.
  2. I teach you how to track your online marketing using web 2.0 tools that measure ROI (“return on investment”).

I posted the article here–> scribd.com and submitted it to some D.I.Y. music business websites and blogs that I’m hoping it will get published on.

    Nice list. It’d be good if you narrowed it down and elaborated on each point though (Or on all of the ones on the current list and made it as an ebook)?

      I think that elaborating on each point with an ebook is an excellent idea. I’ll get to work on that and post the finished ebook sometime next week most likely.

    Thanks for that, I will go through it in detail but I do sometimes wonder whether Gary Vaynerchuk is right when he says to forget analytics and SEO and just go off of direct fan response rate as the best metric 9of course I say this without having read your list properly yet so forgive me if I got it wrong). thanks for the resource!
