If there is anyone who is planning a romantic evening with that special someone, then I recommend you pick up a copy of Boyz II Men’s latest album, Love. Released on Tuesday 11/17/2009, this set features a dozen of previously recorded love songs that span over five decades.
Taking a break from his ‘American Idol’ duties, Randy Jackson steps in as producer for a second time after filling in for 2007’s Motown: A Journey Through Hitsville USA (another album of covers).
As I was watching the promotional video for this release by their record label Decca, it is clear that Nathan, Wanya and Shawn have only gotten better with time. With 20 years in the music business and over 60 million albums sold worldwide, they are still passionate about their craft and haven’t allowed the current state of the industry (with all its emphasis on things non-music related) to deter them.
To go from covering Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” to tackling a country number (Lonestar’s “Amazed”) with such ease and finesse speaks to the incredible range of this group. They are not just R&B legends. They are music legends. Period!
