“Too Much” is calm electro indie rock. It features a more subdued soundscape than the majority of All Time Low’s heavier pop punk material. This might bother long-time fans of the band but for lovers of all things electro (uh, ME!) this song is F’ing sweet!

Perhaps the most interesting thing about this song (and what drew me to it initially) is the fact that it’s produced by The-Dream, of all people. How many punk bands do you know that collaborate with R&B producers? Didn’t think so.

As readers of this blog are probably aware, I am a huge fan of everything The-Dream does so when I saw that he produced a track for All Time Low, I HAD to check it out. As versatile as The-Dream is, I was honestly a bit worried that rock music made by him would sound inauthentic. Judging from what I’ve heard, urban producers have a track record of failing miserably when they try to do rock.

I’m so glad that The-Dream didn’t let me down though. “Too Much” is an incredible song and it has put a big red dot on my radar for All Time Low.

All Time Low is currently touring on the Vans Warped Tour, which is pretty much the most important tour in rock and roll, so congratulations to them. Their latest album Nothing Personal is on sale now so go buy it πŸ™‚
